Golden Turmeric Latte Recipe

This simple, delicious and caffeine free drink can be enjoyed over ice for a refreshing summer beverage or as a relaxing warm tonic. Turmeric is a wonderful spice and has been used as a medical staple in the Indian Ayurvedic medical tradition for thousands of years. The active ingredient in turmeric, known as curcumin, has been shown to have powerful antioxidant properties and benefit inflammation and pain relief.

Ingredients:

  • 350ml coconut/almond/alternative milk
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ¼ tsp ginger
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • black pepper
  • ½ – 1 tsp honey/vanilla essence (optional)

Method:

Add the spices and a pinch of black pepper into a cup and make a smooth paste with a little hot water. Pour in your choice of hot milk and add a little honey or vanilla essence if you prefer it a little sweeter. Sprinkle an extra dust of cinnamon on top if you wish. For an iced golden turmeric latte, simply add in a few ice cubes and enjoy in the sunshine.
