Did you know that the word ‘omelette’ came from the French language, originally meaning ‘blade’? Its shape is reminiscent of a large knife, which ‘laid’ name to this otherwise completely harmless dish.
Eggs can get very repetitive so here is an interesting recipe for you to spice things up. Try our indulgent date omelette, we are sure you will love it! In fact, we’d go so far as to say that it’s cutting edge :)
Ingredients:
6 pitted dates + extra for garnish
1 tsp coconut oil
4 eggs
Salt
Coconut sugar
Cinnamon
Slice up the dates and sauté them in a pan over medium heat in coconut oil. Meanwhile, whisk together the eggs, a pinch of salt, coconut sugar and cinnamon. Pour the egg mixture over the dates and let it cook until firm. Serve your omelette with some extra dates and cinnamon on top.
