Stress Test

Why have a stress test?

Maybe you don’t realise but stress may affect your health in multiple ways. Your body, your thoughts, your feelings, and your behaviour can be easily affected by stress. Muscle tension, pain, fatigue, stomach problems, gut issues, headache, insomnia, cognitive deficiency, irritability, anger, sadness, depression and eating disorders are only a few of the symptoms associated with stress.

Muscle tension is almost a reflex reaction to stress, a way of guarding against injury and pain. A reflex contraction of vascular smooth muscle in the pulmonary circulation and the muscle tension induced by stress can lead to panic attacks, shortness of breath and rapid breathing as the airway between the nose and the lungs constricts. Stress leads into a burst of oxidative reactions, also well known as oxidative stress, that will damage healthy cells and lead to inflammation.

According to The American Institute of Stress about 33% of people report feeling extreme stress. 77% of people experience stress that affects their physical health, 73% of people have stress that impacts their mental health and 48% of people have trouble sleeping because of stress. The latter comes in different forms like mental, emotional, environmental, physical, and hence it’s difficult to recognise it sometimes.

Our stress test will highlight some key bio-markers to assess your stress status.
