Joint Pain and Muscle Test

Our joint pain and muscle test is what you need if you are stiff and concerned about potential inflammation in your body.

Musculoskeletal pain may not affect only your muscles and joints, but bones, ligaments and tendons. Pain can be acute, meaning it is sudden and severe such as a fracture, or can be chronic and long-lasting like arthritis. You may feel pain in one specific area of your body, referred as localised pain, or it may affect your entire body.

Muscles, joints and bone pain is a common problem affecting as many as 3 out of 10 adults in the UK. Persistent chronic pain may negatively affect your mental health thus increasing anxiety and depression.

Sprains, strains and overuse injuries can lead to tendon or ligament pain with acute inflammation. Injuries such as bone fractures cause bone pain, while joint pain is accompanied by stiffness and inflammation. For some people, joint pain gets better with rest and worsens with activity. Muscle spasms, cramps and injuries can all cause muscle pain.

Muscle twitches, burning sensations in the muscles, stiffness and aching, sleep issues and fatigue are typical symptoms of musculoskeletal pain.

Arthritis causes chronic joint inflammation. If you are one of those people who have arthritis you might feel joint pain and stiffness. If you are suffering from a chronic illness like fibromyalgia, you might experience all-over musculoskeletal pain and fatigue. Usually, people with fibromyalgia experience muscle, tendon or ligament pain.

An unhealthy diet, smoking, drugs and stress are only a few of the risk factors for joint and muscle pain.

With our joint pain and muscle test, we can assess just a few of those important chemicals in your body. For a broader spectrum of analysis please see our inflammation and infection test.
